Superstar Angelina Jolie arrived at Grumman Studios to begin filming Salt, a Columbia Pictures’ espionage thriller due out in theatres in July 2010.
The studio shoot is taking place at the former Grumman aerospace operations site, which is now home to the largest studio production space in the New York metropolitan area.
It’s the second time Jolie has spent time filming on Long Island. In the summer of 2005 she filmed scenes for The Good Shepherd in Munsey Park.
The 160,000-square-foot facility provides seven stages, exceptional storage facilities and acres of land for outdoor filming and parking requirements.
In Salt, directed by Phillip Noyce, Jolie plays Evelyn Salt, a CIA operative accused of being a Russian sleeper spy. Liev Schreiber co stars as Salt’s ally and supervisor. Filming for the movie also took place in Washington, D.C.
